Weekly Update – May 29, 2018

It’s time for another cover reveal!

This one is for the forthcoming Heroes & Villains e-book “box set,” a collection of 10 superhero novels from David Neth, Sunshine Somervile, Remy Flagg, Trish Heinrich, Christopher Valin, Gerhard Gehrke, Karen Diem, Marion G. Harmon, Jennifer Gott, and me! You’ll get Action Figures – Issue One: Secret Origins along with nine other full-length novels for one low price, but this set will be available for a limited time only. I’ll let you know when it drops so you can grab one for yourself or for a fellow reader!

Meanwhile, the New England Speculative Writers Kickstarter campaign for The Final Summons anthology has cleared its first stretch goal of $1,475 to cover compensation for our editor. Now it’s on to stretch goal number two: $1,675 to pay for copywriting for the synopsis and blurbs for marketing purposes.

You still have a few weeks left to support the campaign and pre-order the book, which will feature my short story The Going Rate for Penance and 13 other fantasy, horror, and science fiction tales from New England-area authors.

By backing this project on Kickstarter, you can pre-order your e-book copy now for $5 or a print edition for $25 — which also includes a copy of the e-book! For a larger contribution you can have a copy donated to your local library. Visit the project’s official Kickstarter page and learn more about the authors, their stories, and what you get for pledges as little as $2 and as large as $50.

Speaking of CTRF, that show is going to be a little cuckoo for me. I typically don’t work the fall show, but then for a while it was looking like I might, then it was looking like I wouldn’t, now it’s looking like I am, doing some writing, fight directing, and performing. That means I’ll be at my table on my Local Authors Series day in costume, which I kind of hate. I like to be “Author Mike” when I’m appearing at any kind of event, and showing up in a costume, even if it’d be appropriate, feels cheesy.

Weekly Update – June 27, 2017

I lead off this week with a quick, last-minute event announcement. I’ll be at the Shrewsbury Public Library tomorrow starting at 4 PM for their summer reading kickoff event. I’ll be among two dozen local authors who’ll be there selling books and talking about writing, so come on by!
