Another quiet week last week. I spent my writing time working on the next Adventures of Strongarm & Lightfoot book, but alas, could not finish the first draft as I’d hoped. I’m what’s called a “pantser,” which means I do little to no pre-planning before writing anything — no outlines, no plot breakdown, none of that — and that typically serves me well, but every so often, I hit a point in the story where I have to try out several different approaches to see which one works best. This means sometimes writing and deleting and rewriting a single page over and over until it feels right, which is a real time-suck, but it works out in the end, so why change things up?
