It’s tax day today!
In a little while, my wife and I will be heading out to see our accountant at Sadler Financial (an excellent firm that is very knowledgeable when it comes to small businesses and individuals working in any artistic field, FYI), and I know that might not sound all that exciting, it’s something of a landmark day for me. This will be the first time I get to present to Todd, our accountant, my paperwork detailing my financial gains (and expenses) as an independent author.
Todd won’t have any huge numbers to crunch, sadly, but the fact that I now have to include in my taxes what I earn as an author is pretty damned thrilling to me.
I’m trusting that, with the pending release of Action Figures – Issue Two: Black Magic Women in March (or so), next year’s taxes will be more involved, because the numbers will be larger.
I plan to do more than simply think positively, however. To wind up interest in book two, I am planning to do — drumroll please — a free giveaway of the Kindle version of Action Figures – Issue One: Secret Origins!
Here’s the deal, and it’s very simple: the Kindle edition will be free from Monday, March 24 through Friday, March 28, so if you know of anyone who might enjoy the book, let them know!
